The Quiet Caterer
FEATURE FILM - HORROR
IN DEVELOPMENT
Synopsis
Sophie Hart (40), stands beside a newly dug grave, stoic, strained, and alone despite being flanked by estranged family. She is engulfed in grief, her once-vibrant life now reduced to numb routine, the bills piling up. Desperate for distance from the reminders of her pain, she accepts a well-paid contract at a remote biotech research facility nestled deep in the bush. Tasked with preparing meals for a small, secretive team of scientists, Sophie hopes the isolation will bring calm but instead, it stirs unease.

The facility is pristine but cold, its silence unsettling. Security is excessive, staff members are tight-lipped, and certain areas are strictly off-limits. Sophie's quiet curiosity soon sharpens into suspicion when she notices strange behaviour among the staff and hears muffled sounds behind sealed underground doors. Following her instincts, she breaks protocol and discovers something horrifying.

Hidden in the depths of the facility is a grotesquely altered creature: part-human, part-experiment. Instead of fear, Sophie feels a haunting connection. There’s something in the creature’s gaze, in its tentative attempts to communicate, that reminds her of what she lost. Against her better judgement, she begins to care for it in secret, drawn into a bond that feels disturbingly maternal.
As Sophie uncovers the facility’s true purpose, experiments in genetic manipulation and human enhancement at any ethical cost, she and the creature must escape by any means necessary. Finally in an act of kindness that breaks her heart, she must go against her maternal instincts to euthanise the poor creature that asks her to put her to end her pain.

The Quiet Caterer is a psychological sci-fi drama about grief, human connection, and the moral boundaries we cross in the name of progress.
FEEDBACK
SHORT FILM - HORROR
POST PRODUCTION
Synopsis
FEEDBACK follows three volunteer search-and-rescue workers, Ellie, Denzel, and Tam, who are dispatched to a remote farmland to locate a missing group of young adults. The campsite they find is eerily abandoned: tents ripped, fires long dead, beer cans unfinished. With thousands of acres to search and no cell reception, the team splits up to investigate and set up a signal booster.

Strange things appear, a stick with red material tied to it, primitive dolls with human-like hair, and fleeting glimpses of a gaunt figure in the paddocks. When Tam explores a roadside cave, she encounters a skeletal creature with hollow eyes and flees in terror, injuring herself as she runs.

As a storm rolls in and the sun sets, Ellie and Denzel hear footsteps and inhuman breathing outside their tarp before a lightning flash reveals an impossibly tall, spiny silhouette. They flee to Tam’s arriving car, only to find her bloodied and barely conscious. A blocked gate forces them to stop, but when they return to the car, Tam has vanished—replaced by another bloodied doll.

The creature begins stalking them. With nowhere else to run, Ellie and Denzel take shelter in the same cave Tam fled earlier. A flare shoots into the night sky, followed by a scream echoing through the hills, leaving their fate in the hands of the creature.

A Force for Change
POC SHORT FILM - Historical Drama
Development
Synopsis
Based on a real life story of an incredible doctor who defied all odds, travelled across the world and created a women's only hospital that saved the lives of countless women and their babies.
In a charged and atmospheric hospital meeting room, past and present intertwine to reveal the persistent struggle of women in medicine. The camera slowly rotates 360 degrees as the story unfolds.
In the 1890s, Dr. Constance Stone, Australia’s first female doctor, faces a hostile panel of male physicians who belittle her training and question her ability to practice because of her gender. Her wit, confidence, and unflinching presence expose their prejudice. With her sister Clara and other pioneering women, she establishes the Victorian Women’s Medical Society and rallies public support for a hospital built by women, for women. Their vision becomes reality through grassroots fundraising and unrelenting determination, paving the way for future generations.
The scene shifts seamlessly into the present day, where Dr. Felicity Simpson undergoes a similarly loaded job interview before a male panel. Despite her qualifications, she faces insinuations about her appearance, family plans, and ability to “fit in.” Drawing strength from the legacy of Constance Stone, Felicity challenges their bias and asserts her right to carry women’s health forward into the modern era.
As the camera completes its full circle, Constance appears behind Felicity, a silent, proud witness to the ongoing fight for equality.
This script is both a historical tribute and a contemporary indictment, highlighting how far women in medicine have come and how much further there is still to go.
